南天门位于普陀山南山，有4米之环龙桥相连普陀山。入口处有两石相峙似门，上有一石横亘，镌“南天门”三字。进门为一宽广平台,有大观篷建此。其上巨石参天，山岛相望，有“海岸孤绝处”“砥柱南天”“山海大观”等二十余处摩崖石刻。
